Chess grandmaster Hans Niemann sues champion Magnus Carlsen, others for $100 million over cheating claim

This is a frivolous lawsuit and a shameless attempt by Niemann, an admitted, multiple-time chess cheater, and proven chronic-liar, to try to get undeserved publicity and fortune. If there is any justice and integrity in the courts, it will be summarily dismissed against all parties.

And I'll preemptively address the elephant in the room before some knucklehead whines and cries about Niemann having not *yet* been caught red-handed cheating in OTB chess, having thus far only proven to be a rabid cheater in the online form of the game and lying about the frequency of such. Magnus Carlsen has never before withdrawn from a match or tournament in which he was actively playing and never forfeited games before Niemann was unfortunately invited to Sinquefield as a last minute replacement. So the assertion that Carlsen is: "Notorious for his inability to cope with defeat" is absolute rubbish, as is 90% of the other nonsense that comes out of Niemann's mouth. Should Magnus Carlsen have handled his very justified suspicions about whether or not Niemann was playing fair, in the manner he did? Probably not. But that is certainly up for debate. What is not up for debate is that there is ample legitimate evidence to warrant strong suspicion about the possibility that Niemann cheated in OTB chess, and this should be discussed and questions should be asked, not the least of which is his obvious arrogance and narcissism, which are personality traits consistent with someone who would do such a thing.

If there is any justification for a lawsuit it would be a class-action lawsuit against Niemann for severely hurting the perceived integrity of the chess world. Because of the stench of Niemann's debacle, there are now constant accusations being bandied about whenever someone performs well in online chess.
